Religious Images and Urban Places in Vergil’s Aeneid

Vergil’s Aeneid, written in the Augustan period, when Rome appeared at height of its urban development and was widely regarded as city par excellence, powerfully addresses changes that space experienced over time. In poem, different sites appear modified by many agents who had appropriated, transformed, crafted them through a range religious civic practices. Subtly, Vergil takes topic brings Rome's humble origins emblematic places to memory his contemporaries, with strong emphasis on kinds images expressions. this way, focus relationship between Roman religion allows us read Aeneid from viewpoint warrants further investigation.
